High Income Skills: Isn’t it rare to see a corp member wearing a khaki on a weekend? Ex Kopa shares how to make 150k monthly.

Yes, it is. You’ll most likely see this uniform on weekdays.

Well, this picture was taken on a weekday. That was 2020 when I was a corp member. I just realized a lot of good things happened during my service year and part of it was me deliberately not uploading this picture then .

The service year is a very good opportunity for any graduate to access a lot of opportunities that Nigeria has to offer and the privileges that comes with wearing that Green and White for 1year.

It’s a known fact that when you have your khaki on, you can enter into anywhere (any organization to seek for opportunities). 𝘏𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘯𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘮 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘰, 𝘤𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘪, 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘵).

But beyond that, service year is an opportunity to make several connections, build new networks, gain relevant experience and learn relevant skills.

𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀.

Talking about skills, have you wondered why 𝐍𝐘𝐒𝐂 made it mandatory for 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 to learn shoe making. On a lighter note, have you wondered why SAED (Skills Acquisition & Entrepreneurship Department) is mandatory for corp member before leaving the NYSC camp?

Of course, the government are aware you graduated with a First class or a Second Class Upper but even at that, you need a relevant skill.
Life now is beyond a 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐄, it’s now more about what you can do and offer.

The Ex President was not entirely wrong when he said “𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐘”.

Permit me to reframe what the president meant to say, I believe he meant “𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐘”.

The Nigerian system has sold us an ideology that you can only make it when you are formally educated and have a school certificate.

This lie has crippled the industrious, constructive and innovative capability in a lot of Nigerian graduates.

We have been made to believe; once we have that certificate then we are settled, you only need your certificate to succeed, you’ll get everything you need once you have a certificate.

All these are not entirely true.

Yes, a certificate is good. But far beyond it, there’s a lot you can do and achieve outside your certificate.

So begin to think, open up your mind and your ability to the vast possibility you have as one created in the Image of the Creator.

Nigerians don’t like reading, so I decide to put this at the end. If you’ve read to this point, that simply shows you’re interested in relevant information and growth.
